STATION 1
Jesus Condemned to the Cross

Artist - Tim Bulkley, pen & ink. His intent was to capture the mood of Good Friday. The idea is to capture the feeling of what was to happen will happen, and also the feeling of entrapment.

STATION 2
Jesus Accepts His Cross

Artist - Nancy Luepold, collage.  In order to bring bearing the cross closer to the viewer, Nancy used newspaper headlines to identify the problems that we deal with today.  The darker background is sandpaper and coarse to the touch.

STATION 3
Jesus Falls the First Time

Artist - Douglas Peters and John Wilkins, bas relief.  Doug's face was placed against wet plaster to portray the impact of a fall and the impression in the dirt. The plaque was then carved to show the crown of thorn and hair strands.

STATION 4
Jesus Meets His Sorrowful Mother

Artist - Charles Tipple, wood carving.  The impact of this station comes across in the dark walnut finish, the massiveness of the piece and the large crystal tear.

STATION 5
Simon Helps Jesus Carry the Cross

Artist - John Wilkins, watercolor.  Many Simons are portrayed as we all have the responsibility be as one in the family.

STATION 6
Veronica Presents Her Veil

Artist - John Wilkins
Moved by compassion, Veronica presents her veil to Jesus, to wipe His disfigured face.

STATION 7
Jesus Falls the Second

Artists - Leslie Hogan and Pastor Jack Lundin, stained glass.  This station has to be touched and  to feel the sharpness of the individual pieces and know the impact of the fall.

STATION 8
Jesus Speaks to the Weeping Women

Artist - John Wilkins, block print.  The mood is dark as was his message (Luke 26: 28,29)

STATION 9
Jesus Falls the Third Time

Artist - Charles Tipple, sculpture.  A drop of blood on a stone marks the road to Golgotha.

STATION 10
Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

Artist - Annalise Cox, stained glass.  Hand reaching and grabbing the clothes before placing Jesus on the cross - personal violence.

STATION 11
Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

Artist - John Wilkins, sculpture.  The material for the cross piece bark is from a eucalyptus that once grew at the front of CGS.  The hand and the spike need no explanation.

STATION 12
Jesus Dies on the Cross

Artist - Wesley Hogan, stained glass.  The cross no longer has any power to hold Jesus and is cast down.

STATION 13
Jesus is Taken from the Cross

Artist - John Wilkins, sculpture.  The hand and nail are gone but the impressions and memories remain.

STATION 14
Jesus is Laid into the Tomb

Artist - John and Stephanie Swensson,
papier-mâché. While not part of the original stations the last two were included so the Christian foundation follow-on was presented

STATION 15
Christ is Risen

Artist - Jon and Stephanie Swensson,
papier-mâché.
